Lei Wili Workshop with Uncle Bill Char
Learn how to make lei wili from start to finish with master lei maker, Uncle Bill Char. This is an amazing opportunity for participants to observe, learn, create, and ask questions firsthand in a virtual setting from the comfort of your home. Live Zoom Session - March 6, 9:00 - 10:00 am
There are limited spaces available on a first come, first serve basis. You may choose to attend the Live Zoom Session with your own materials ($25) or purchase the Zoom Session + Materials Kit ($40). A Zoom link will be emailed to all registered participants by March 5, 2021.
Materials Kits include enough foliage to create one (1) lei po'o and will include some or all of the following items, depending on availability: bougainvillea, bozu, statice, assorted greens. Kits must be picked up on Wednesday, March 3, 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Kamehameha Schools Pauahi Administration Building, Lower Parking Lot. Participants need to provide raffia, scissors and a small spray bottle with water.
If you are not ordering a materials and are attending the Zoom Session link only, you are encouraged to have the following materials on hand:
- At least one pan of flowers and/or greenery
- Flowers such as bougainvillea, mini carnations, bud roses, baby’s breath, statice, ‘ulei berries, ‘ohelo berries, pukiawe and/or other berry clusters, bozu (globe amaranth), ‘ohai ali‘i, wax flowers, ageratum, liko lehua, asters, cockscomb (celosia), ‘a‘ali‘i, Spanish moss
- Greens such as leatherleaf fern, palapalai, laua ‘e, ti leaf, song of India, pohinahina, moa
- Small spray bottle with water
