2024 THEME
Kūpaʻa nō kākou - We are Resilient
Our ancestors crossed the vast ocean arriving in Hawaiʻi long ago. They encountered many hardships. They persevered & overcame harsh conditions to begin a new life in the islands.
Their resilience & cooperation helped them build a thriving lāhui, despite the many challenges they faced. The ʻŌlelo noʻeau, "He ‘a‘ali‘i kū makani mai au; ‘a‘ohe makani nāna e kūla‘i" describes one who is resilient in the face of adversity - I am a wind-withstanding ‘a‘ali‘i; no wind can topple me over. Like the ʻaʻaliʻi which withstand the winds that beat upon it, our people will continue to stand firm together. We are resilient - Kūpaʻa nō kākou!
This year's theme was developed by our sophomore hosts - Class of 2026!
